When discussing my relationship status with an ex-boyfriend, he relayed to me a very poignant line that I had never heard. He said, "Men f*&^ goddesses and marry mortals". When he said this I was genuinely taken aback until I let go of the shock of the statement and went deeper into the meaning. What he was trying to say is men love to run around freely expressing their sexuality and lustful desires with women who in today's modern age represent Goddesses (think Marilyn Monroe, Cleopatra, etc.), but often marry a more conservative, and shall we say, less adventurous woman (think J. Lo vs. Jennifer Garner).
When I sat and thought back to how this cliche could play out in this day and age, I thought about the growing trend of Hip Hop stars getting boo'd up by ex strippers like Amber Rose or femme fatales like Natalie Nunn and how these women never seem to stick their sexy feline claws into their backs deep enough to keep them for good.
There is no secret that men love women who are freaks in the sheets. If this were not the case, the porn industry would not be grossing $14 billion annually. It is also no surprise that men growing up like to sew their oats and have sex with as many women as they can. This has always been a rights of passage for young men evolving into adulthood. But lets take a look at the current state of affairs when it comes to lustful activities. We have all seen an increasing trend in pole dancing classes and classes on how to dance like a stripper in order to "keep your man satisfied". So, I'm wondering, once you learn how to climb the pole then drop it like its hot, does a husband come after? Do women find it that if they can put it on a man and make him scream that he will wife her up just like that?
I'm curious to know what priority sex really plays when it comes to getting married and settling down. Would a man give up the sexy nympho for the straight-laced career woman? Or do you have to be ALL OF THE ABOVE to get married these days.

based on these matchups...monica, tia, kkp...sexual compatibility is CRUCIAL in a marriage and anyone who says different is being politically correct....men marry the "mortals" because to find the combination of pornstar/ domestic skills/high acheiever in carer in one woman is pretty tough to find....the "mortal" is going to satisfy the domestic needs, support, loyalty even if she isnt Roxy Reynolds in bed... the "goddess" even if she is sexy like an amber rose a lot of time has deep-rooted issues that are too difficult to overcome

I believe in today’s society specifically, a woman must be multi talented.... classy, educated, beautiful, but nothing less than a freak!! To conservative equals boring, which equals crappy sex, equals a cheating husband, which equals divorce in time!! Those women who are conservative will be fine, as long as there pretty and hold solid careers. However, they may struggle maintaining a relationship with an attractive and financially successful man because this type of man will attract an Amber Rose, or he’ll pay for one!! Lol

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm not marrying none of those headcases (e.g. Rose, Rihanna and Nunn). Those chicks with all the sexual prowess always wind up being trouble in the long run. I call it the "T.O. effect." Notice how teams only keep that dude for a year? That's because the headaches he causes out-weight his talent and production after a while. Same with the "goddess" type chicks. You can't rock with them for the long term because the turmoil will render the sexual experiences less and less important.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, while sex is a very important part of a relationship, as we mature, we value the fact that the woman supports us and "has our back" when we are ready to settle down. The key there is "when we are ready." If a guy is still desiring that mind-blowing sexual conquest, he ain't ready to get married. Cheating doesn't come from lack of love or boredom, it comes from people not respecting their relationship enough to keep their lustful thoughts at bay. If you can't do that, then don't get married.

I love the title alone! we have this conversation in the shop often and I believe Tori Spellings husband said it best " As long as you keep us fucked and fed" you have to be a freak in the sheets and a lady in the streets(grocery store)you need to cook.
